Seeing Stars...

In between waiting for coats of paint to dry, I looked around the house for something to do.  Well, something that didn't involve actually cleaning said house, or laundry, or windows, or dishes.  :P

So a couple of years back, I went through this whole Americana/Primitives stage.  You know the dark burgundy, baby poop yellow, and navy blue.  Yeah.  So doesn't work for me now.  And I've got TONS of the stuff.

Now, I still like my metal barn stars.  Those are da-bomb.  I just hated their colors.  Guess what?  Ain't nothing that a little spray paint can't fix.  So that's what I did when I could have been doing, say...  Mopping floors.

Hmmm...  Mopping floors or transforming some fugly home decor?

Spray paint will win every time!

Before:

And then I had this gorgeous silver star that needed a little oomph:

A little primer, a little white and silver spray paint and VIOLA!

In keeping with the whole shabby chic transformation,  I left the chipping paint on the large red star until after I primed and painted it and then chipped it off.  I think it looks pretty darn shabby!

It never ceases to amaze me at what a little spray paint can accomplish.  Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find something else to give a little spray paint love!
