The Changing Season: Prairie Patina Debut!

Wow, y'all!

Has it been a CRAZY few days!

It feels good to sit in front of the computer and rest.
(It would feel even better to be in my bed... Asleep.  LOL!)

My arms are sore...

My legs hurt...

My fingers occasionally cramp...

But it was worth every bit of it!

Four days....

Six pieces of furniture...

and

Seven crafts.

It was a marathon to say the least, but somehow it got done...

In no small part to Scott who pretty much took the kids out of the house for four days, so I could go to it without interruptions.

Thank you, baby!

While most of you were celebrating the 4th, I spent the day hunched over the kitchen table and turned out 4 No-Sew Pillows and 2 Scrap Fabric Wreaths.

Yes, I missed the parade.

Yes, I missed the fireworks.

But having everything done by this morning, was well worth it.

Although, I did miss spending the time with my kiddos.  :(

So, without further ado...

Less talking and more pictures.

Here is the new home of Prairie Patina:

The Changing Season
107 East Bremer Avenue (Main Street)
Waverly, Iowa

I stole this picture from The Changing Season's Facebook Page
(LINK!  Please go LIKE!)
because I was too lazy to walk across the street.

I did, however, take this one today:

Holy smokes!

My stuff is in a STORE!

I can't tell you how HUGE this is for me!

From fledging furniture DIYer not quite a year ago to this!

WOW.

I am amazed and so thankful!

God is good!
(Dream big.  Pray big.  Trust God.)

So, do you want to see what I've been up to the past several days?

C'mon in!

Meet Carrie...

Owner and shop keeper extraordinaire.

She's mom to a 4 month old baby girl, wife to a great hubby,  auctions, picks, crafts...  She's one busy lady!

And directly across from her counter is this:

Hall Tree by Prairie Patina.

Did I mention my stuff is IN A STORE????

LOL!!!

And if you look right behind it, you'll see the corner of a chalkboard.

Yep...

By Prairie Patina!

And it's sitting on top of a
ASCP Graphite and White Waxed Dresser...

It actually turned out to be one of my all-time favorites!

The wooden pop bottle box?

Prairie Patina.

The pulley?

Prairie Patina!

Hehehehehehehe!

I'm Sorry...

I can't help it.

I'll try to stop saying it.

Let's take a walk back to the front of the store....

Remember the settee from my auction series?

There she is!

 SOLD!

The pillows were my 4th of July morning turned all day project.

Completely No-Sew!

This girl does not do sewing machines.

I'll have a tutorial on the How-To this Monday, so stay tuned!

And I was surprised to see that my aggravating, I want to kick it dresser really didn't look all that bad in the right setting.

Across the room and what you see when you first come in
is this great little vignette...

(Carrie does good work, doesn't she?)

Her theme this month is a summery yellow.

I like it so much that I've finally decided to go with yellow and white for the kitchen.

It's just such a happy color.

The little wreaths on the ladder?

Yep.

I was up doing those until 1:00 a.m. this morning.

And my little side table is as cute as it can be underneath...

I love how the top of the table lifts up vertically for easy storage.

It's weird seeing all the stuff I know I've done, in a store.

In.  A.  Store!

I feel downright professional.

And with these new tags I've ordered for my furniture,
I even LOOK professional!

LOL!!!

These tags are AWESOME!

My best friend all through childhood has her own business on Etsy making these.

Heather makes banners...  tags... flowers.  Anything you can think of with paper.  They're made out of a heavy card stock and then the top is actually cut out to reveal the the colored card stock underneath.

She specifically designs whatever it is you need, in whatever color you want.

And the quality?

Outstanding!

I was pleasantly surprised when she sent me a couple of samples.

Y'all should check her out at Especially Paper.

The tags really made my items look professional.
I can't wait to get the shipment!

If you purchase anything, be sure to tell her I sent you!

:)

So, it was definitely a whirlwind few days.

I feel like I'm coming out of a stupor and years have passed.

It was well worth it though!

My stuff...  In A STORE!!!

I just can't get over it!

Unreal!

But, I think out of everything, this pillow is my absolute favorite.

And pretty much sums
everything up in a nutshell.

Because even though I was slightly crabby and rushed and worried and stressed...

Scott was there for me.

He helped with the children.

Kept me focused.

Calmed me down.

And reassured me when I had doubts.

I think I'll hold onto him.  ;)

For now though...

I'm going to take a nap.

I'm TIRED!

See ya later on Facebook!

XO,

You truly have a talent, and eye for this and God has given you a great gift which you are using....My only complaint is that you are not in MINNESOTA.....my town has probably 10+ "occasional stores" and your stuff is better than ANYTHING I've seen here....you have great pieces, with great painting, and VERY WELL put together....simply amazing!!!!! You should really think about "The Junk Bonanza" which is at Cantibury Park here in MN in Sept. YOU would do really well there....people LOVE THIS STUFF!!!!
